This content is generated by Google AI. Generative AI is experimental

DevFest season is officially back. From October 1 through December 31, 2026, nearly a million developers and builders will gather for the world’s largest community-led technology conference.

Hosted around the world by Google Developer Groups (GDGs), DevFest helps everyone — from seasoned software engineers to emerging solution builders — gain practical, hands-on experience with Google’s AI technologies.

What to expect at DevFest 2026

Under this year’s theme: "Build, Secure, Scale: Developers and Builders in the Agentic Era," the 2026 season prioritizes hands-on experimentation at every event. Attendees will engage directly with tools across Google’s stack — including Gemini, Google AI Studio, Google Antigravity, Google Cloud, Firebase, Android, Flutter, Angular, and Web MCP — through live codelabs, workshops, and agent-athons.

The tracks this year reflect three core realities for modern software development:

  1. It’s never been easier to build. New tools allow more people and teams to prototype and deploy faster than ever.
  2. What you build should be safe and secure. Speed cannot come at the expense of stability. Building in the agentic era requires rigorous focus on secure deployment, data privacy, and responsible AI guardrails.
  3. You can work with production-ready infrastructure. Google provides top-of-class models to help builders and developers scale reliably from day one.

How to connect with local communities, globally

DevFest is built by the community, for the community. While backed by Google, each GDG curates its agenda and tailors each event to serve the specific needs and challenges of its local tech ecosystem. GDGs design their DevFests to foster an inclusive, welcoming environment where participants collaborate and uplevel their skills together.

Get involved

With more than 800 events planned across 115 countries, DevFest offers a space to sharpen your skills, test new architectures, and connect with the community.

You can find Your Local Event by visiting the DevFest Event Directory and keep up with the conversation by using #DevFest across social channels.
