Across the Asia-Pacific region, startups, nonprofits, and researchers are stepping up to build a more sustainable future. To help them scale these critical solutions, we’ve selected 16 organizations for our Google DeepMind Accelerator: AI for the Planet in APAC.

Kicking off this week with a hands-on bootcamp in Singapore, the program, which supports startups, nonprofits, and research teams, will help them advance their ideas using frontier AI models — like AnthroKrishi, ForestCast, AlphaEarth Foundations, SpeciesNet, and Perch — to tackle urgent environmental challenges.

Here’s a look at the inaugural cohort.

Protecting nature and building climate resilience

  • 800 Trust (New Zealand): Using AI and bioacoustics to continuously monitor biodiversity and detect environmental threats
  • Kumi Analytics (Singapore): Integrating remote sensing and deep learning to establish environmental baselines for conservation projects
  • Listening Lab (New Zealand): Developing data-efficient bioacoustic tools to monitor biodiversity through sound
  • TelePIX (South Korea): Transforming satellite data into actionable intelligence for global mangrove monitoring
  • Wildlife.ai (New Zealand): Building open-source, AI-powered cameras for wildlife conservation
  • Yayasan Ekosistem Lestari (Indonesia): Creating a predictive AI platform to connect environmental degradation with disaster risk

Advancing sustainable agriculture

  • Edufarmers (Indonesia): Delivering near real-time pest, disease, and weather guidance to smallholder farmers through everyday messaging apps
  • Living Roots (Thailand): Using data and AI to design biological fertilizers tailored to specific crop needs
  • SIGMA (Singapore): Developing satellite-based AI models to estimate crop yields and build climate resilience
  • Terrastack (India): Combining satellite and agronomic data to provide plot-level land intelligence for smallholder farmers
  • X-Centric (Australia): Replacing traditional soil labs with portable, AI-enabled, X-ray hardware for instant geochemical insight

Scaling climate and carbon solutions

  • Archeda (Japan): Using satellite data to transform nature-based carbon credits into measurable, high-integrity assets at scale
  • City Syntax Lab (Singapore): Building an agentic AI platform to optimize energy and carbon across urban districts
  • Climitra Carbon (India): Deploying Geo-AI to verify the removal of invasive species and convert them into biochar
  • Farmers for Forests (India): Turning smallholder agroforestry into measurable carbon and biodiversity action at scale, using AI-powered drones
  • Varaha Climate (India): Empowering smallholder farmers to earn carbon credits by verifying regenerative agriculture and carbon removal, using remote sensing and AI

Over the next three months, these organizations will receive access to the latest Google AI stack (including specialized frontier models), tailored support, and mentorship from our experts. This is a unique opportunity that will help participants navigate technical complexities — and scale the next generation of solutions for our planet. We’re eager to see how they develop, deploy, and scale AI to solve environmental challenges in Asia Pacific.
