Katherine Legge will drive for BJ McLeod's Live Fast Motorsports in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Katherine Legge will return to the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend at Watkins Glen International.

Legge, who turns 46 in July, made her NASCAR Cup Series debut in 2025. She ran seven races with BJ McLeod’s No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports, and she will return this weekend to pilot the Chevrolet once again. The part-time team mostly competes with McLeod behind the wheel. However, on occassion, a driver will bring sponsorship to get reps in at the Cup level.

The England native will once again be sponsored by e.l.f. Cosmetics, which partnered with her in three Cup Series races in 2025, as well as four O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races, including two DNQs.

Katherine Legge’s NASCAR History

Legge first tried her hand at NASCAR competition in 2018, running four O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races for JD Motorsports. In those four races, she earned a best finish of 14th. But after that season, she refocused her attention to IMSA, where she was competing for sports car wins.

In 2025, Legge shocked the motor sports realm by dedicating her entire year to NASCAR racing. She became the first woman in the Cup Series since Danica Patrick’s departure in 2018. In her seven Cup starts, she had a best finish of 17th in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. She also finished 19th at the Chicago Street Course.

Watkins Glen will mark the first time Legge has competed on the same track in the Cup Series twice.

Last year, she was open about the horrific online abuse she endured after her first handful of starts.

Katherine Legge’s Indianapolis 500 Attempt

Legge will attempt to compete in this year’s Indianapolis 500 for the first time since 2024.

This year, Legge has signed up to attempt the historic Memorial Day weekend spectacle with HMD Motorsports, in partnership with AJ Foyt Racing, piloting the No. 11 Chevrolet.

“We worked incredibly hard to be back at this year’s Indianapolis 500, and I don’t take a single moment of it for granted,” Legge said. “I’m beyond grateful to e.l.f. Cosmetics for believing that women deserve to take up space in every arena – including this one. Together, we’re proving that when you invest in a woman’s dream, there’s no limit to what she can achieve.

While HMD is not a full-time IndyCar Series team, it is one of the leading Indy NXT organizations, and its partnership with AJ Foyt Racing in the feeder series has been quite helpful for both sides.

“We’ve already seen what this partnership can do on the INDY NXT side with the speed, poles and race wins we’ve earned this season,” AJ Foyt Racing President Larry Foyt said. “HMD Motorsports has built an outstanding reputation and having them involved with this Indianapolis 500 effort adds another layer of depth to our program. Katherine is a talented and determined racer, and we’re excited to work together to bring this effort to life on the sport’s biggest stage.”

In 2023, after a 10-year hiatus from IndyCar Series racing, she return to attempt the Indianapolis 500 with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. She qualified in 29th, but she was the first driver out of the race after crashing on lap 41.

Her last Indianapolis 500 attempt came in 2024, when she ran seven races with Dale Coyne Racing, also backed by e.l.f. Cosmetics.
