The Minnesota Vikings made their first trade of the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday, April 24, in a deal with the Carolina Panthers. So, what did the Vikings get, and was it worth it?

According to the team’s official X account, the Vikings got the No. 51 overall pick and No. 159 overall selection. In turn, the Panthers got the No. 49 overall pick and No. 196 overall selection.

It’s a fairly even trade, and it appears it was in the best interest of both teams. Followers were quick to comment on the move and agreed that it didn’t seem like a large change for either franchise in the draft.

“Seems to be an odd trade, we really didn’t gain much. I guess they don’t really love anyone that much,” one follower said. “Guess there was no chance to negotiate gaining draft capital?” another added.

Others voice their opinions on who to take, with one saying, “If we don’t take McNeil Warren the facility is gonna be ashes by July.” Another added, “The team has a lot of holes and they trade back.”

That adds the No. 98 overall pick for 2026 and a third-round pick in 2027.

“Good trade for Vikes,” one follower said on X. “Would I have like their 2nd round pick for Greenard? You bet, but two 3rd round picks, just as solid. We get back cap space as well for a upcoming free agent.”
