Jon Jones Reacts to Kamaru Usman's Brock Lesnar Prediction

Jon Jones did not hold back after Kamaru Usman made a bold prediction about a wrestling match with Brock Lesnar. Jones was not pleased with Usman and claimed that he could defeat them both of them on the same night.

Lesnar retired from WWE after his match with Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42 last Sunday. His retirement opens the door for other ventures, such as Real American Freestyle (RAF) a should he choose to pursue that. A notable name would likely be required for the former UFC heavyweight champion to seriously consider it.

While ‘Bones’ has had a stronger MMA career, ‘The Beast’ built a more accomplished collegiate wrestling resume. Before his WWE career, Lesnar was a decorated collegiate wrestler and won a NCAA Division 1 National championship in 2000.

During the latest episode of his Pound 4 Pound podcast, Usman told Henry Cejudo that Lesnar would edge out Jones in wrestling. The clip circulated on social media and caught Jones’ attention. He responded by taking aim at Usman.

Jones shared the clip to his Instagram story and expressed confidence that he would defeat both men.

“@Usman84kg I’m getting my hand raised against you and Brock in the same night.”

What Did Kamaru Usman Say About Jon Jones vs. Brock Lesnar in RAF?

Kamaru Usman shared his opinion on a hypothetical RAF wrestling match between Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ did not discredit ‘Bones’ wrestling background, but pointed to ‘The Beast’s resume.

Usman said Jones would likely take a more offensive approach against Lesnar. However, he believes ‘The Beast’s high wrestling IQ would make the difference.

“This is a tough one. I would have to go with Brock, even though I think Jon is probably going to be a little bit more offensive,” Usman said during Pound 4 Pound. “I just think those limbs shooting underneath a guy as big as Brock Lesnar trying to get him down. He could stay in his stance and he could hand fight, which at heavyweight, definitely wears a guy down.”

While Jones’ last two UFC fights took place at heavyweight, Lesnar would still likely hold a size advantage. That physical edge, along with his technical ability, could prove too much for ‘Bones.’

Henry Cejudo Explains Why Jones Would Defeat Lesnar Now

Henry Cejudo also weighed in and shared his opinion on a hypothetical RAF wrestling match between Jones and Lesnar. He favored ‘Bones’ in a wrestling matchup and pointed out the age difference as a key factor.

Cejudo is confident that Lesnar, in his prime, would defeat Jones in a wrestling match. However, now 48 and after his WWE run, ‘Triple C’ believes ‘Bones’ would win today.

“I gotta go with [Jones]. [Lesnar] has been through the [expletive] grinder, man. He’s not the same guy,” Cejudo said during Pound 4 Pound. “If it was in his prime, Jones ain’t beating Brock in wrestling. Brock was a legit NCAA champ, real big heavyweight. But right now, Jones is a little younger.”

Cejudo also took a jab at Lesnar after Usman noted that he has remained active in WWE, having wrestled at WrestleMania.

“That’s acting, Kamaru.”
