‘Dutton Ranch’ Sets Paramount+ Record for Biggest Series ...

A large contingent of viewers followed two of the key figures in Yellowstone to their new home.

The premiere of Dutton Ranch, a spinoff that follows Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) as they leave Montana for a new life in Texas, set a ratings record for a Paramount+ original series premiere. Based on the streamer’s internal data, the May 15 premiere racked up 12.9 million views (total minutes watched divided by run time) worldwide in its first seven days.

The 12.9 million global views for its first seven days puts Dutton Ranch in range of another very successful series from the Taylor Sheridan empire, Landman. The latter’s second season premiere racked up 9.2 million views worldwide over just its first three days and went on to be one of the biggest shows of the 2025-26 season. Dutton Ranch also surpassed the March debut of The Madison.

In the United States, Dutton Ranch is also on track to be the top original series in Nielsen’s streaming rankings for the week of May 11-17. Preliminary figures from the ratings provider have the show averaging about 7.25 million viewers on Paramount+ over its first three days; final tallies for that week (measured in total viewing time) will be released in mid-June.

Dutton Ranch also had an on-air premiere on Paramount Network (Yellowstone’s original home) that drew 2.9 million viewers over three days of viewing. The first episode accounted for 1.9 million of those viewers, the best three-day total for a series debut on cable since Hallmark’s Ride in 2023.

Dutton Ranch comes from Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Chad Feehan created the series and served as showrunner and executive producer on season one, though he exited the show before the season premiered; a new showrunner for the very likely second season hasn’t been named yet. Yellowstone co-creators Sheridan and John Linson also executive produced season one, as did David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Reilly, Hauser and Keith Cox. Voros also directed several episodes, including the season premiere and finale; Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey and Phil Abraham also directed.
