After 12 seasons and four NBA championships, it’s possible Steve Kerr won’t return to coach the Golden State Warriors.

Most Warriors players including Steph Curry and Draymond Green have stated they hope Kerr signs a new contract, but they also understand the franchise is at a crossroads. After a season marred by high-profile injuries, Golden State’s path to contention next year looks murky at best.

How will Kerr, owner Joe Lacob, and GM Mike Dunleavy evaluate a decision that will shape the future of the franchise? On this episode of “Section 415,” The Standard’s Danny Emerman explains where Golden State could turn if Kerr isn’t on the sideline next season.

From high-profile assistants to top college head coaches and multiple outside-the-box candidates, Emerman looks at the type of coaches that could pique the interest of Lacob and Dunleavy if the Warriors enter a new era.
