September 28 update: We are no longer accepting applications. Thank you to all those who have applied!

We’re thrilled to announce, for the fifth year in a row, an opportunity for students to connect with GitHub employees ahead of GitHub Universe 2023. Whether you’re joining us virtually or in-person on November 8-9, we’re kicking the conference off with virtual micro-mentoring sessions, as a part of GitHub Social Impact programming.

At GitHub, we’re passionate about making a positive impact on the world through our products, brand, and employees. That’s why we’re excited to offer 30-minute, virtual 1:1 micro-mentoring sessions with industry experts from our team. Get ready to receive personalized feedback on your resume, plan your goals, and develop your skills. This is your chance to connect with like-minded individuals and receive career pathing advice from the best in the business. So, what are you waiting for? Get ready to take your career to the next level with a mentor!

How to apply for a mentoring session:

  • Each slot will consist of a 1:1 session with a GitHub employee for 30 minutes from October 30-November 7. Please note there is limited availability.
  • Please use this link to apply.
  • A diverse team of GitHub employees will review each application. Applications must be received by 5 pm PT Wednesday, September 27. You must be 18 or older and currently enrolled in a college/university/academic institution. If you are selected to participate, we will contact you by email by Friday, October 13, and you must confirm your attendance in writing by email by Friday, October 20.
