Bray Head is one of those walks that is easy to underestimate, especially if you live in Dublin and keep telling yourself you will do it some other weekend.
I went on a clear day and it was worth it almost immediately. The climb is not extreme, but it is enough to make it feel like you have earned the view. Once you are up there, the whole coastline opens up. The sea, the cliffs, the green around you, all of it comes together in a way that feels much bigger than a walk this accessible has any right to feel.
It is a good option if you want to get out of the city without turning the day into a full expedition. If you have moderate fitness, you should be fine. You can keep going toward the Bray Cliff Walk as well. I did part of it, then turned back toward Bray Head and stayed there a while instead.
Sometimes that is enough. A short train ride, a steep path, good air, and a reminder that you do not need to go very far to feel like you have properly left.
