A Sudoku Word Search is a sudoku made of letters instead of numbers. Every row, column, and 3×3 box has the same nine letters, just like sudoku. But every row, column, and box also holds at least one letter of a hidden word, and each listed word is in the whole grid exactly once — just like a word search.
The words you must find are integral to the puzzle. At some point in solving, sudoku techniques alone aren't enough to uniquely solve it, and you'll have to add new logic based on where the hidden words must be. When ordinary sudoku logic stalls (and it will) you turn to the words: ask where a word can possibly fit, drop it in, and watch it force letters that sudoku alone could never settle.
