Keynap is a local AI voice input tool for turning speech into text. It transcribes what you say on your PC and sends the text directly to the currently focused input field. Use your voice in the apps you already use every day, including browsers, notes, chat apps, editors, email, and document tools.

Keynap is free to use, with no word limits or time limits for voice input. It helps with short chat replies, long drafts, meeting notes, idea capture, customer responses, and everyday document writing.

Your audio is not sent to external servers. No external communication is required, and transcription is completed locally on your PC, making it practical for notes, drafts, chat replies, and work-related text you want to keep on your own device.

Keynap includes a custom-tuned AI transcription model. It supports voice input in Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Greek, Arabic, and Vietnamese, processing speech quickly so you can move from speech to text with less friction than typing. Depending on your environment, Keynap can use GPU or CPU backends for smooth local transcription.

The app stays available from the task tray, and a compact HUD shows recording status without getting in the way. Settings for hotkeys, start and stop sounds, VAD, language, and processing backend can be adjusted from the settings screen.
