“Who’s saying, ‘Send me, Jesus?'” Contemporary Christian singer Forrest Frank asked the crowd that packed Nashville’s GEODIS Park on Friday (June 19), as he spearheaded a show on his headlining The Jesus Generation Tour. From the first moments of his show, Frank seamlessly blended his own uptempo hits such as “Your Way’s Better” and “Celebration” with classic worship songs and message intended to uplift believers.

Frank first came into national prominence as half of the pop duo Surfaces, before becoming one of Christian music’s top artists, blending elements of hip-hop, pop and a promotional plan that places a premium on social media-first strategies. Together, those elements have led Frank to connecting mightily with a young generation of fans. His 2024 album, Child of God, became entrenched at the pinnacle of the Top Christian Albums chart for many weeks, and entered the Billboard 200 chart, while his 2025 project, Child of God II, debuted at No. 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart and reached No. 12 on the all-genre Billboard 200.

His Nashville show opened with the tour’s namesake song, “The Jesus Generation,” before Frank sailed right into many of his hits including “Amen,” “Good Day” and “Up!” The crowd seemed to be largely made up of families, youth groups and kids/teens of all ages, all of them singing and dancing along. Many in the crowd also wore wristbands that lit up in various colors throughout the show.

In 2025, his sold-out Child of God Tour Part 2, Frank sold out Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. This year, he leveled up to GEODIS Park, welcoming an estimated 21,000 fans to the open-air stadium. Joined by openers Tori Kelly, Cory Asbury and The Figs, Frank orchestrated a nearly two-hour headlining show that further cemented his role as one of CCM’s most essential artists at a time when the genre has been surging, a singer/songwriter and entertainer who is at the top of his game. In tune with a young generation of listeners, Frank and his music continue to provide a soundtrack for and shape a new wave of CCM fans.

For the majority of the show, Frank let the music lead the way, flowing from one hit to another. He also sang “Jesus Is Alive!” a song that recently earned Frank his second Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart No. 1. The song vaulted to the top spot in only two weeks, and marks his 10th top 10 on the Hot Christian Songs chart. During his previous tour, Frank had featured audio of his pastor grandfather preaching. During his GEODIS Park show, he took time to honor his grandfather as well as his grandmother, both of whom passed away recently.

“Our grandma was a prayer warrior, and I have this memory of growing up in the same neighborhood as them and getting dropped off like once a month or something,” Frank told the crowd. “My grandmother would be putting her hand over my head and she’d be praying in this language that I didn’t understand. Now that I’m older and a little more mature, I understand she was speaking in a heavenly language and she spoke that language over me every day of my life … there are a lot of reasons I shouldn’t be here today and a lot of reasons you shouldn’t be here today, but here we are. Could it be that we are here today because somebody prayed for us?” From there, he performed the unreleased song “Somebody Prayed.”

After leading most of the show from the main stage, at one point Frank walked through the crowd, shaking hands with audience members as he made his way to a piano set up at a satellite stage near the back of the venue, for a bit of the show, giving those in the back of the venue the best seats in the house. There, he sang “No Longer Bound” and “Thankful,” before making his way back to the stage. At one point, as he did on his previous tour, Frank opened up his laptop and guided fans through his methodology of putting together a song, giving fans a peek into his process.

Frank had barely sung one note of his hit “Your Way’s Better” (which entered the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 last year) when the crowd took over, singing the majority of the song a cappella. He soon joined in, as the whole audience continued singing along, with many doing the viral dance that helped catapult the song’s popularity.

Though his setlist was heavy on his solid string of hits (so many in fact that some such as “Nothing Else” and “No Ls” didn’t make it into the set list that evening), it was clear his focus was on setting the atmosphere for worship. His stage was set up to look like a grassy hill, with a massive, lit-up cross in the center. He blended classic CCM/worship songs with his own hip-hop and pop-oriented hits, leading the crowd through the “Lord You Are Good” before segueing into his own “Celebration.” He also brought up a concert-goer from the crowd to sing Caleb Gordon’s rap verse on the song “God Is Good.”

Halfway through the show, he segued from his plethora of hits to lead the audience in several worship music songs and hymns, including the Matt Redman-written classic “Heart of Worship,” as well as the hymn “Nothing But the Blood of Jesus,” and the newer Bethel Music/Jenn Johnson hit “Goodness of God.” Turning his back to the audience as he sang, Frank spent much of that time kneeled at the base of the cross that was the centerpiece of his stage production, as the crowd sang with him, turning the evening from concert to worship service.

The show drew to a close as The Figs’ Bailey and Micah walked onstage, hyping up the crowd while Frank surprised fans by popping up in the upper reaches of the venue, surrounded by fans. As the audience’s wristbands lit up in vivid yellow, Frank joined The Figs to sing their hit “Lemonade,” and then closed with another high-energy, pop-infused hit, “Never Get Used to This.”

From the opening notes to the final chorus, Frank kept the multi-generational audience deeply engaged. With dynamic songs and vibrant performances, Frank’s concerts have swiftly become a stand-out concert experience, particularly for audiences seeking a family-friendly setting where listeners of all ages can share in the music’s mission and atmosphere.
