How DMEGC Accelerated R&D Innovation with Lenovo xIQ Clou...
Lucy Rich · 2026-06-30 · via Lenovo StoryHub

DMEGC is a leading solar panel manufacturer and trusted supplier to Fortune Global 500 companies, operating across 80 countries. Since its founding in 1980, DMEGC has grown to operate six major manufacturing bases and more than 20 factories. In addition to high-efficiency photovoltaic (PV) panels, DMEGC produces related products including magnetic components, specialist machining tools and lithium-ion batteries.

To support continued growth and accelerate innovation, DMEGC aimed to equip its research and development (R&D) teams with an integrated, automated platform to streamline software development, deployment, and resource provisioning. With data central to its operations, efficient software delivery is critical.

“The business is growing fast, and we aim to equip our teams with the capabilities they need to innovate,” said Wu Zhenjian, CIO at DMEGC. “However, we relied heavily on manual processes and systems for software lifecycle management, which made it difficult to move as quickly as we wanted to.”

Building a modern, cloud-native R&D platform

As the backbone of DMEGC’s innovation efforts, the R&D team develops and operates complex software systems that support daily business operations. Its technology stack includes container orchestration platforms and a full DevOps toolchain covering project management, code hosting, CI/CD, and quality analysis.

To improve resource efficiency, DMEGC set out to build a unified infrastructure pool supporting both x86 and ARM architectures, providing scalable and reliable support for its next-generation software lifecycle platform.

DMEGC chose Lenovo to help improve its R&D efficiency and accelerate the modernization and transformation of software delivery processes. In-depth cooperation was undertaken, focusing on Lenovo’s full-stack technical capabilities that would support DMEGC’s company’s long-term DevOps construction goals.

Relying on the Lenovo xIQ Cloud intelligent cloud platform, DMEGC completed the planning and implementation of a private cloud platform. This solution replaces the original isolated and decentralized IT infrastructure and manual DevOps processes with an integrated and automated cloud-native architecture. It integrates Lenovo TruScale infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings, achieving deep collaboration among resources, platforms, and R&D processes.

“We urgently needed to modernize our approach to software lifecycle management,” added Wu Zhenjian. “By enhancing the integration and automation level of the R&D toolchain, we can effectively improve product development quality, optimize operational efficiency, facilitate cross-team collaboration, reduce comprehensive operation and maintenance costs, and ultimately provide solid support for continuous technological innovation.

Accelerating software delivery and operational efficiency

With Lenovo xIQ Cloud, DMEGC has established a highly automated unified research and development operation platform, achieving standardization of the entire software lifecycle process. By replacing the traditional manual operation modes, enabling rapid verification, approval, and online release of new code, the platform effectively reduces human errors and significantly enhances software delivery efficiency and iteration speed.

“We test and validate all new code automatically, which helps us detect and fix defects earlier in the development process,” said Zhang Chunxiao, Basic Operation Manager at DMEGC. “This approach, known as shift-left, means we start testing from the very beginning rather than waiting until the end. Combined with real-time performance and quality monitoring, it is helping us shape a more efficient and transparent approach to DevOps.”

Linda Yao, Vice President and General Manager, Hybrid Cloud & AI Solutions at Lenovo said: “Through our Lenovo Deployment Services offering, we provided support including DevOps best practices, methodologies and services to help ensure the success when adopting hybrid cloud environments. By combining deployment expertise with 24/7 support, we deliver the flexibility, scalability and peace of mind needed to ensure solutions like Lenovo xIQ Cloud continue to meet the long-term needs of companies like DMEGC.”

Tangible benefits for long-term innovation

With Lenovo xIQ Cloud in place, DMEGC’s developers can now deploy new releases in hours rather than days. Software release cycles have dropped from hours to minutes, and the platform delivers 99.99% availability for key business services, ensuring consistent uptime.

“Lenovo xIQ Cloud gives us self-monitoring and self-healing capabilities, as well as self-service resource provisioning which reduces the need for management work,” added Zhang Chunxiao. “Our developers can now access resources on demand without calling on our operations team, which empowers them to work with greater speed and agility. Lenovo’s solution has helped us unlock operational cost-savings, improves efficiency and gives us more control over software delivery.”

The Lenovo solution also strengthens DMEGC’s information security, through fine-grained user access permissions, built-in vulnerability management capabilities and end-to-end traceability through unified logs.

Lenovo xIQ Cloud supports DMEGC’s commitment to long-term efficiency and innovation with a future-ready digital core designed for growth.
