Vicky Forster awarded TEDGlobal 2017 Fellowship
2017-05-24 · via British Science Association

Vicky Forster, a former British Science Association Media Fellow, has been awarded a TEDGlobal 2017 Fellowship. She is one of 21 young innovators from around the world who will share their world changing ideas from the TED stage in Arusha, Tanzania at TEDGlobal 2017.

TED, the nonprofit dedicated to “Ideas Worth Spreading,” announced the new class of “change maker” Fellows yesterday (23 May 2017). Fellows will join leading policymakers, business people, academics and activists from across the African continent and around the world on 27 – 30 August this year.

Vicky is a UK scientist researching new treatments for paediatric cancer and is now working in Toronto, Canada. Her research draws on her own personal experience with leukaemia to investigate the devastating side effects of current therapies. Other recipients of the Fellowship include a solar storm scientist, an urban refugee expert and a fashion designer.

The TED Fellows program brings together young innovators from around the world and across disciplines, who display both outstanding achievement and exemplary character, to raise international awareness of their work and maximise their impact.
