William Vantine - NASA

William (Bill) Vantine is the chairman of the board of Sabre Systems Inc., a board member for several other U.S. companies, and a member of the board of advisors for the George Washington University Trachtenberg School. He served as president and chief executive officer of Systems Planning & Analysis Inc. (SPA) from 2016 to 2022, where under his leadership, its stock price increased more than 2,000 percent, the company was named Mid-Size Government Contractor of the Year in 2022 and was selected as a Washington Post Top Workplace each year of his tenure. 

Before joining SPA, Vantine served as the president and chief executive officer of Los Alamos Technical Associates and previously as president and chief operating officer of the ARES Corporation. He began his career at NASA as a Presidential Management Fellow, where he held numerous program management positions, including being the first executive director of the Shuttle-Mir Task Force (currently the NASA International Space Station Advisory Committee). Vantine was named GovCon CEO of the Year in 2019 and the WashingtonExec DoD Executive of the Year (Industry) in 2021. He also is the recipient of the NASA Exceptional Service Medal and a Silver Snoopy. Vantine received his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the George Washington University and his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech. He is a member of the Pi Alpha National Honor Society, a Wolcott Senior Fellow, and an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Vantine is also the author of more than 20 professional papers on risk management, data analysis, safety, and reliability, and two children’s books.
