A husband has pulled the plug on his marriage after his teacher wife allegedly had sexual conduct with one of her students in Alabama.
Paige Adams, 35, of Cullman, was arrested Tuesday on a 32-count indictment for allegedly having a sexual encounter with a student and reportedly sending obscene material to the young scholar at least 28 times between February and early March.
Adams, who is the head girls basketball coach for Cold Springs High School – her alma mater – resigned from her position on March 25, but she allegedly solicited the student at least two times just nine days beforehand, CBS 42 reported.
Following her resignation, her husband and men's basketball coach, Drew Adams, filed for divorce on April 6. The two had been married for more than a decade, and Drew is asking for full custody of their son Parker.
The Daily Mail has contacted the Adams family and the school for comment.
Adams faces 32 charges, including two felony counts of engaging in a sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student and having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19.
The other 30 charges are misdemeanor counts of distributing obscene material to a student, The Cullman Times reported.
If convicted, the teacher would face 31 years in prison. She will be arraigned on May 22.
