A brazen bouncer's violent attempt at keeping the peace outside of a California sports bar has landed him out of a job and in handcuffs. 

David Marquez, a security guard at Park 101 bar in Carlsbad, was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly fired a stun gun point blank at a shirtless guest, with the prongs latching onto the man's face.

The 42-year-old was seen on video dressed in a typical security guard uniform unloading the stun gun into the face of a patron who appeared to be already outside the establishment.

The bouncer seemed to fire the taser without warning, sending the patron to his knees writhing in agony.

The edited footage then cut to Marquez being placed under arrest and escorted out of the sports bar by police.

The security guard was charged with suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and assault with a stun gun.

Pete Chich, co-owner of Park 101, called the act 'deeply disturbing' in a statement cited by CBS 8.

Chich said that the incident does not reflect the establishment's values and added that guests' safety is a top priority.

The co-owner added that Marquez was hired by a third-party company as additional security for the World Cup events.

Chich also said that Marquez is no longer employed there and that the bar would no longer use the third-party security vendor.

Instagram users quickly expressed their horror at Marquez's now-viral alleged act.

'Straight to face is wild,' one person wrote.

'Yikes, can't just taser someone on the sidewalk,' another added.

'What a real piece of s*** that is your scared of the young man outside the four-and-a-half-foot wall not to mention the size of the idiot who shot him in his face, and you just shrug it off like o well disgusting,' a third said.

Rob, one of the owners of Park 101, told 10News that the establishment is working with officials during their investigation.

Marquez is expected to appear in court on July 2, according to the outlet.
