The Pentagon's Joint Interagency Task Force 401 has entered into an agreement that will allow Romania to procure counter-drone technologies through the task force's online marketplace, according to a Wednesday press release.

The agreement with Romania is the second JIATF 401 has entered into with a foreign nation since the task force was stood up last year. The task force also entered into an agreement with the United Kingdom recently to establish common data standards for counter-drone systems.

Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, who serves as the executive agent for JIATF 401, posted a photo on X Tuesday of him signing the agreement with Radu-Dinel Mirută, Romania’s defense minister, and wrote that the two nations are taking a “meaningful step forward in accelerating the delivery of UAS and counter-UAS capability to our forces.”

“Our nations agree we need to move fast and get our soldiers what they need for the fight ahead,” Driscoll wrote.

Driscoll’s goal is to open up the marketplace to 25 partner nations by the end of the summer, according to the press release.
