Space Force seeking information for next two MWT epochs
By Shelley K. Mesch / June 16, 2026 at 11:08 AM · 2026-06-16 · via InsideDefense.com

The Space Force is seeking information on the next two epochs of its medium-Earth orbit missile warning/missile tracking satellites and ground system, according to a notice posted yesterday.

Epochs 3 and 4 of the Resilient MWT-MEO constellation are expected to bring the program to “Full Warfighting Capabilities,” according to the notice from System Delta 84. As the program continues to launch the slates of satellites with updated and new technology, the service expects Resilient MWT to fulfil the requirements of Overhead Persistent Infrared capabilities.

The Space Force is requesting $1.4 billion in fiscal year 2027 for the MEO system and $3.6 billion for a low-Earth orbit system, which is part of the Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture, according to budget documents.

SYD 84 is asking businesses to provide information on capabilities and feasibility of Epochs 3 and 4 space vehicle delivery, integration and operations, ground segment facilities and sites for command and control of the constellation and digital engineering integration capabilities.

As SYD 84 also wants to promote small business participation, the service is also asking for assessments of potential subcontracting opportutities, recommendations to increase small business participation for the effort and whether other business classification codes could maximize visibility and competition.

For the MEO program, the service intends to use firm-fixed-price contracts with Other Transaction Authority agreements.

SYD 84 plans to provide responses to a group of 38 companies that have contracts to support the delta by performing technical reviews, analysis and other advisory services. Respondents that don’t want this information shared must state so in the cover letter attached to their responses.
