What happens when Agile practitioners, community advocates, technologists, and nonprofit leaders come together around a meaningful challenge?
At PMI® Agile 2026, attendees will have the opportunity to find out through Hack for Good, a unique social impact experience designed to turn collaboration into tangible community outcomes.
In partnership with the Jubilee Association of Maryland, the Hack for Good “hackathon” invites participants to move beyond conversation and apply Agile thinking to real-world challenges faced by a nonprofit organization that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Over the course of this two-day activation, attendees can work alongside facilitators and Jubilee stakeholders to explore operational and technology challenges, generate ideas, and build practical solutions. Whether participants choose to drop in for a single session or engage throughout the experience, every contribution helps move ideas forward—from early concepts to working prototypes.

Unlike a traditional conference session, Hack for Good is designed as a highly interactive, hands-on experience. Participants will collaborate across disciplines, experiment with Agile tools and techniques, and witness progress unfold in real time. The activation will culminate in a collection of outputs and recommendations that can be shared back with Jubilee, demonstrating the impact that can be achieved through collective effort and purpose-driven collaboration.

Leading this experience are April Jefferson and Quinton Quartel, co-founders and Lead Facilitators of Hack for Good.
April Jefferson is a facilitator, speaker, coach, and experience designer with more than 20 years of experience in technology, leadership, Agile transformation, and community engagement. She creates highly participatory experiences that help people solve meaningful challenges, build authentic connections, and turn ideas into action. As a leader within the Agile Alliance community, she has helped launch and grow initiatives including Hack for Good, Future of Work 24 Hours, Women in Agile Open, and Agile Open events around the world. She is also co-author of The Way Through: Real Stories of Courage, Connection, and Change from Around the World.
Quinton Quartel is an AI engineer, engineering leader, Agile practitioner, and facilitator with more than 20 years of experience in software engineering, technical leadership, and Agile transformation. A lifelong eXtreme Programming practitioner, he designs hands-on, collaborative experiences that combine modern engineering practices, agentic AI, and human-centered collaboration to help teams learn quickly, build together, and deliver meaningful outcomes. He is the creator of the FAST scaling framework, used by teams around the world, and serves on the board of Agile Open Northwest while helping grow community-driven events across the region.
Together, April and Quinton created Hack for Good to demonstrate what becomes possible when purpose-driven people, emerging technologies, and collaborative practices come together to create solutions that benefit communities. Their work has brought together volunteers, students, nonprofit organizations, practitioners, and industry leaders to transform ideas into meaningful impact.
