After spending the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins, Jaylen Waddle was traded to the Denver Broncos this offseason. Now that we’ve had a bit of time to let the market come to a consensus on Waddle, let’s break down his dynasty fantasy football rankings.

To give some context, the Broncos traded for Waddle and pick No. 111 (round four) from the Dolphins. Miami in return was able to land pick No. 30 (round one), No. 94 (round three), as well as No. 130 (round four).

The Dolphins’ decision to trade away Waddle doesn’t mean he's a bad player, it just shows they're in a clear rebuild. With that out of the way, here’s where Waddle is ranked in dynasty fantasy football and what you should do with him.

Jaylen Waddle Dynasty Fantasy Football Rankings?

For these rankings, we’ll be using Keep Trade Cut as a reference. Right now, Waddle is ranked as the WR26 (0.5 PPR), giving him an overall rank of 69 in superflex.

In a 1QB format that jumps up to 58th overall (WR27). There shouldn't be any real difference in positional value between superflex and 1QB, so that part seems like some random variance.

For this article, we’ll be focusing more on superflex leagues, but the general idea applies to both formats.

It’s important to know that Waddle was traded on March 18th. On March 17th, Waddle had a KTC value of 4600, making him the WR29.

As of March 18th, that shot up to WR23 with an overall value of 4901. Now it's not some massive spike, but the overall takeaway is that this situation change is a good thing for Waddle.

Should You Trade for Jaylen Waddle in Dynasty Fantasy Football?

Since then, Waddle has seen his price dip back down slightly to the WR26, although his overall value is at 4860 right now. That's something that I don't really understand because Denver didn't select a single wide receiver in the NFL Draft.

Now, to be fair, they did draft Justin Joly, who is more of a receiving tight end, and also Dallen Bentley in round seven (pick 256). The thing with Joly is that he went at pick 152, which isn’t great draft capital.

It wouldn't shock me if Joly doesn't get a ton of playing time in his rookie season.

Waddle, on the other hand, should get a ton of usage as the Broncos gave up a significant amount of draft capital in order to get him.

The Broncos wouldn't have traded for Waddle if they didn't have a role carved out for him right away. Even beyond that, outside of Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin, there's not much competition.

The number three receiver was Evan Engram in terms of yards, who had less than 500. I’m expecting Franklin to take on that WR3 role and Waddle to earn just as many targets, if not more than Sutton.

Waddle isn’t extremely young anymore at 27, but Sutton is getting up there at 30 years old.

All that is to say that Waddle is a buy for me right now because it seems like some are forgetting just how good he is. From a talent perspective, Waddle is the best receiver in this room.

Waddle was the 6th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft and had 1,015 receiving yards as a rookie. Waddle then had 1,356 receiving yards in year two.

While Waddle hasn’t been able to reach 1,300 yards since, the situation in Miami hasn’t been great. In Waddle’s last three years, he’s gone over 900 yards twice, and his worst season was still 744 yards in 15 games.

With Bo Nix throwing for 3,931 yards last year and heading into year three, this should be a fantastic situation for Waddle. Now this is assuming that all goes well for Nix in his recovery process, as he suffered an injury during the playoffs.

When looking at the dynasty fantasy football rankings for Waddle, he’s a good trade target right now.
