Queen has appeared on many of Billboard’s albums charts dozens of times. The group released 15 traditional studio LPs, as well as a large number of live sets, compilations, EPs, and other projects have also landed on a variety of competitive rosters, such as the Billboard 200, Top Album Sales chart, and others.

There is one albums chart where Queen has only managed a single win, and it is on that rundown where the legendary rock outfit climbs to a never-before-seen high.

Queen’s Greatest Hits Reaches a New Chart High

On this week’s Top Streaming Albums chart, Billboard’s look at the most-played collections of any genre on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others, Queen’s Greatest Hits advances. The compilation leaps from No. 40 to No. 35. As it ascends, both the compilation and Queen establish new peak positions.

Greatest Hits Took Years to Rise to Its New Peak

It’s taken Queen’s Greatest Hits set more than two years to reach the lofty space where it currently resides. The project arrived on the Top Streaming Albums chart in March 2024, and since then, it has only managed to find space on the tally 13 times throughout several separate runs.

Queen Returns to No. 1 on the Top Hard Rock Albums List

As Greatest Hits generates a new peak on the Top Streaming Albums chart, the bestseller returns to its all-time high on another roster. Queen is once again in charge of the Top Hard Rock Albums list, which ranks the most consumed titles in that rock subgenre. Greatest Hits lifts one rung and makes it to 209 weeks at No. 1, which is one of the greatest runs at the summit on any of the music magazine’s rankings.

Greatest Hits Climbs on Multiple Albums Rankings

Queen’s Greatest Hits finds space inside the top 10 on two additional, related rankings: the Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. This time around, the compilation advances to No. 4 on both of them. At the same time, it dances to No. 31 on the Billboard 200.

Greatest Hits also finds its way back to one of the half-dozen tallies on which it can be found in America. The compilation comes in last place, No. 25, on the Vinyl Albums list. That placement is notable, as it shows that the rock band’s singles collection is not only a top performer when it comes to streaming sites, but also a bestseller – at least on one format.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Under Pressure” Surge

Only one Queen album is present on the Billboard charts, but several of the group’s most famous singles either rise or return to a pair of tallies. “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Under Pressure,” the group’s team-up with David Bowie, appear on both the Hard Rock Streaming Songs and Hard Rock Digital Song Sales lists. Meanwhile, “We Will Rock You” and “Another One Bites the Dust” can be found only on the list of the bestselling hard rock tunes in the country. The success of those four songs seems to have played a role in the rise of Greatest Hits, and once again, Americans are clearly loving anything and everything Queen.
