GOAT, NBA star Stephen Curry’s animated basketball-inspired tale starring the voices of Caleb McLaughlin, Nicola Coughlan, David Harbour, Jelly Roll and Jennifer Hudson, is coming soon to streaming video on demand on Netflix after a successful run at the box office.
GOAT opened in theaters on Feb. 13 and pivoted to digital streaming via premium video on demand on March 24. In the film, McLaughlin (Stranger Things) stars as Will, an undersized goat who gets to realize his dreams of playing in the basketball-like sport called roarball, where he will have to face off against the toughest animals on the planet.

Directed by Tyree Dillihay, GOAT also stars the voices of Gabrielle Union, Nick Kroll, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco and Sherry Cola. Curry is one of the producers of GOAT and also has a voice role in the film.
According to Netflix, GOAT will make its SVOD debut on the platform on Thursday, May 14. For viewers who don’t have a subscription to the platform, Netflix offers an ad-based plan for $8.99 per month and an ad-free package for $19.99 per month. In both plans, content can be streamed on two separate devices.

In addition, Netflix has an ad-free HD plan for viewing on four devices for $26.99 per month.

GOAT was produced by Sony Pictures Animation, which also released the animated Spider-Man films and the 2026 Best Animated Feature Oscar winner KPop Demon Hunters.
GOAT opened at No. 2 behind Wuthering Heights at the domestic box office the weekend of Feb. 13-15, earning $27.2 million from 3,863 North American theaters. GOAT rallied in its second weekend of release from Feb. 20-23, however, with $16.8 million in ticket sales to win the domestic box office crown and knock Wuthering Heights down to the No. 2 spot.

GOAT also earned $87.1 million in international ticket sales, bringing its worldwide box office tally to $190.4 million.
GOAT’s global tally makes it the third-highest-grossing animated movie in 2026 so far, behind Universal Pictures-Illumination Entertainment’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie ($834.5 million to date) and Disney-Pixar’s Hoppers ($375 million to date). GOAT had a production budget of $80 million before marketing costs, according to Variety.
Rated PG, GOAT arrives on Netflix on May 14.
