TOMORROW X TOGETHER X UNICEF "Together For Tomorrow"

BIGHIT MUSIC

K-pop superstars Tomorrow X Together (TXT) have joined forces with the United Nations humanitarian non-profit UNICEF to launch a global campaign focused on youth mental health and well-being. The campaign, “Together for Tomorrow,” was announced during a press event held by the Korean Committee for UNICEF at Blue Hole, its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.

TXT members Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai were all in attendance to answer questions about the campaign. Best known for their music, the group has resonated with so many in their generation, sharing their emotions – both positive and negative – through their music and social personalities. People, especially their fans – MOA, felt a bond with the group.

“There was a desire to repay the love that our fans have given us,” Soobin said in Korean during the press conference. “We had a strong will to realize the meaning of our team name. TOMORROW X TOGETHER signifies that you and I, who are different, come together as one dream to create tomorrow. I wanted to convey that, as our team name suggests, we can dream of a brighter future together, not alone.”

In the campaign video, the members ask, “How are you feeling today?” As they write their feelings down on paper, they express the belief that they come together to understand each other. They assure the viewer, “Tomorrow will be better.” It then cuts to children, as they narrate, “Some days, words of comfort feel far away.” The members then meet with the children, sharing, “Rather than try to change you, we just stay by your side. Hard days happen. We’ve been through it too. Asking for help doesn’t mean you’re weak. Let’s learn how to find balance together. Because together, we can be ready for a better tomorrow.”

“I wanted to express the hope that we can talk about our feelings openly,” says Beomgyu. “We should not hesitate to ask for help when we need it. I also included the thought that just as we regularly get check-ups for our physical growth, it would be good to take a look at our own hearts regularly.”

Hueningkai resonated with what Beongyu said, noting that when our bodies are sick, we get help, but the heart tends to “suffer in silence, especially during the fast-growing adolescent years.” He recalls feeling this way, especially as a child growing up in multiple cultures (as a biracial person); he says music had a significant impact on him. He explains, “Music was a tremendous source of strength during my childhood.”

Yeonjun recalls his childhood, especially as a trainee. He remembers, “Looking back on that time, while there was joy in pursuing my dreams, there were also many exhausting moments. It’s really important to look into the heart as much as the body, but I didn’t realize that back then. I feel like I’m still learning that now.”

This isn’t the first time the group and its company, BIGHIT MUSIC, have worked with the organization. Last year, TXT and BIGHIT MUSIC contributed $1.4 million to UNICEF over the next two years, with plans to raise additional funds through fan engagement and other activities. The funding has supported a range of mental health programs and advocacy, including providing children, adolescents, and caregivers with relatable ways to protect their mental health.

The group plans to do more promotions for the campaign, hoping that fans will reflect on their own thoughts and seek help when needed. Taehyun says, “This campaign is based on empathy as the starting point for mental health, aiming to understand each other without prejudice and to create a better tomorrow together. Through this campaign, we will have the opportunity to experience a few questions that allow you to reflect on your own feelings.”

The group has made a global impression with their artistry, consistently hitting the Billboard charts and becoming the first K-pop group to perform at Lollapalooza, and then the first to headline the festival. In 2024, the group was the first K-pop act to perform two consecutive sold-out shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Their recent album, 7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. Additionally, the group is set to headline KCON LA this August with a one-hour performance. Yeonjun will be performing his own solo set on another night of KCON LA.
