You read that headline correctly. AMD is reportedly bringing back the former #1 gaming CPU of all time, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Is this the story of the year? The one CPU that could save us from the insanity of DDR5 pricing without significantly impacting GPU performance (other than the fine products produced by Intel) is returning.
As reported by VideoCardz, sourced from an X account, and based on a Chinese language slide, we have PROOF that AMD is giving us exactly what we wanted. And if we want it hard enough, we can achieve anything. Even if that thing is spending $449 USD on a product that came out in 2022 at the same price.
Maybe we are jumping the gun, but it’s just possible that PC builders have an excuse to build that 5800X3D system they missed out on the first time, and with the DDR4 they may already have (or can more affordably buy). What better way could there be to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Socket AM4?
