Airtel launches ‘Priority Postpaid’ plans starting at ₹449
By BL New Delhi Bureau · 2026-05-19 · via Latest InfoTech News, IT, Information Technology News | The HinduBusinessLine

In an effort to make its network stronger and beneficial, Bharti Airtel (Airtel) on Tuesday has launched ‘Priority Postpaid’, a new service that leverages 5G slicing technology to deliver superior and more consistent experience to customers on postpaid, starting at ₹449, going up to ₹1,749 (+ GST) per month.

The service is available for customers on all its postpaid plans. Existing customers will start enjoying the benefit automatically, while Prepaid customers or customers wanting to switch to Airtel Priority postpaid can do so easily through the Airtel App or by visiting any Airtel Store, it said.

“Our focus at Airtel is on delivering meaningful innovations that enhance our customers’ experience. Priority Postpaid is our latest innovation powered by the 5G slicing technology. It provides a superior, more reliable, and dependable experience to our customers — whether they are attending a client call in traffic, or streaming at a packed concert, or booking a cab in a crowded market,” Shashwat Sharma, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Airtel, said.

This service is specially built for busy customers who depend on uninterrupted connectivity for work, entertainment, or online collaboration, he said.

Commenting on the development, SP Kochhar, Director General, Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) said that 5G network slicing capabilities in India is marking an important milestone in the evolution of next-generation digital infrastructure.

“Network slicing is a cutting-edge 5G technology that has already been launched in markets such as the United States, Singapore, China, and parts of Europe. We are delighted that one of our operators has now brought this innovation to India, reflecting the rapid progress of the country’s telecom ecosystem. It is equally encouraging to see India catching up with the world’s most advanced digital economies in adopting such transformative technologies,” he said.

For the Priority Postpaid, Airtel has upgraded its 5G network with advanced capabilities of slicing technology. By intelligently and dynamically segmenting network capacity, Airtel is offering a stable and dependable experience for postpaid customers, even when traffic demand is high, it said.

For all the plans starting ₹449 plan, an individual customer will get Priority on 5G with Fastlane Technology; fraud detection and spam alert services; unlimited data and calling; and 3,000 SMS as a standard. Apart from that the customer gets Airtel Xstream Play (app), Adobe Express Premium and 100 GB Cloud Storage.

Similarly, for the ₹699 plan (family of 2 connections), the customers will get all of the above services, plus Amazon Prime and Jio Hotstar, Airtel said. For the ₹999 (family of 3), and ₹1,199 (family of 4) plans, the customers get all of the above + Apple TV+ and Apple Music.

For the highest plan of ₹1,749 (family of 5), the customers get all of the above plus Netflix, the company added.
