Kapil Bhaskar, a 12th Standard student of Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Mylapore, built Neeyosi.com as a simple and effective way to learn about candidates in the upcoming elections

With polling day here in Tamil Nadu, if you want to take one last hard look at all the candidates of your constituency before you head to the polling booth, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a young technology mind are here to help you.

Kapil Bhaskar, a 12th Standard student of Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Mylapore, Chennai, has built a website called Neeyosi.com (’You think’ in Tamil) as a simple and effective way to learn about candidates in the upcoming elections. Bhaskar is said to have used AI vibe coding tool Emergent to put together the website.

Using large data sets Election Commission and MyNeta.info as inputs, the AI-driven page lets you choose your constituency and quickly explore candidates in the fray in a user interface that is easy to access and understand. It also displays the candidate’s basic profile and data, criminal record, assets and background information, among others.

It is completely free and does not require registration and does not collect any user data.

The intention behind its creation also seems to be working as the platform is reported to be used widely by citizens, crossing the 25,000 users mark in the last two days, as polling nears

“NeeYosi (translates to “You Think”) is the easiest way to get to know your candidates for the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections. Pick your constituency and see your candidates’s details. Let’s bring in a brighter tomorrow,” the creator Kapil Bhaskar wrote on a LinkedIn post.
