Cybersecurity firm N-ABLE is expanding its presence in the Bengaluru Global Capability Centre (GCC) by 50%. Over the last 18 months, the company has established its presence in the city, growing to a team of 140 professionals. The company is focusing on a hiring push in the coming year, planning to expand its city workforce by over 50%, prioritising roles in AI data modelling, AI software design, lifecycle management, and Large Language Model (LLM) optimisation technologies. They have moved out of their short-term office and transitioned into a facility in downtown Bengaluru.

To support this workforce scaling and fuel its talent pipeline, N-ABLE is initiating engagements with Indian academia. Company leadership highlighted Bengaluru’s university ecosystem, particularly its research capabilities in artificial intelligence and threat detection, as a reason for selecting the city over alternative.

Speaking on the autonomy and impact of the Bengaluru workforce, the Chief Technology and Product Officer, Mike Adler, emphasised that the Bengaluru facility operates as an innovation hub rather than a capability centre. “The teams here are empowered to make their own decisions and to go as fast as they possibly can,” he stated, confirming that teams have taken ownership of product features. Commenting on how the team is pioneering advancements in development, executives noted, “The team here is ahead, and they’ve been driving some innovative solutions to how we redefine the software development lifecycle in the world of AI, and that’s being driven here, and that’s super exciting.”

The India workforce designs and delivers artificial intelligence capabilities directly into N-ABLE’s global platforms, which protect just under 12 million endpoints worldwide. Teams in Bengaluru have taken end-to-end ownership of product features, including product management, user interface design, development, quality assurance, operations, and security operations centre functions. These professionals build solutions for endpoint management, such as automated scheduling and AI audits, which are deployed across 21 markets globally. Furthermore, the workforce engineers threat detection algorithms, machine learning patterns, and automated remediation processes that operate in real time to mitigate cyber-attacks for businesses across the globe.

The company is evaluating opportunities for technology partnerships and acquisitions within the Bengaluru startup ecosystem. Enable uses mergers, acquisitions, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnerships to integrate technologies into its portfolio, as seen with past acquisitions and collaborations with vendors. By establishing this facility, N-ABLE secures a position to review local startups and source technology assets that meet the resource and price constraints of small and medium-sized businesses worldwide.

N-ABLE also has internship programmes designed to provide mentorship for students, alongside collaborations with university researchers to integrate insights back into their portfolio.
