Vehant Technologies, a security solutions company, is looking to scale its international business, targeting 20 per cent of revenues from overseas markets over the next three years.

The company manufactures security and imaging devices such as baggage scanners, vehicle scanners and explosive detectors among others.

It recently signed a contract to install 22 X-ray baggage scanners in upcoming metro stations in Chennai. It has already installed 11 machines across 9 new stations and will install the remaining in the next 2-3 months. It is also working with 8-10 city metros in India.

Speaking to businessline, Kapil Bardeja, the CEO and co-Founder of Vehant Technologies said that the firm closed FY26 with revenues of ₹193 crore, out of which 5 per cent came from exports.

“We are currently in about 22 countries, predominantly in Africa, Middle East and parts of Europe and Asia. We believe that we are at a critical scale right now where we can reach out to these markets and expand more aggressively,” he said.

As for its business in India, Bardeja said that the increasing footprint of air passenger traffic is a strong tailwind for the industry.

As for the impact of the war in the West Asia, Bardeja flagged an increase in input costs. “There has been an overall increase in material costs. Metal prices have jumped about 30 per cent while packing material has increased by 35 per cent,” he said.

As for its manufacturing presence, Bardeja said that Vehant operates two manufacturing facilities in Noida and Himachal Pradesh with 70-80 per cent of the components in its products being locally sourced. “There are some import dependencies especially for electronic components,” he added.

The company is also evaluating options for a potential IPO in FY28, and if that happens, it plans to use the proceeds from the listing for improving its R&D capabilities and expanding export business.
