The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) has accorded its ‘Consent to Establishment (CTE) order for two of the three sites allotted for the 1-GW AI Data Centre Hub being set up by Google in association with the Adani group and Airtel.
The board has given its consent for the Rambilli (Anakapalle district) and Tarluvada (Visakhapatnam) sites of the data centre hub. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, along with IT Minister Nara Lokesh and representatives from the companies, will lay the foundation stone, kicking off the construction work.
“This consent order (for the Rambilli site) is issued from the pollution control point of view only. Zoning and other regulations are not considered. This order is valid for 7 years from the date of issue,” S Srisaravanan, Member Secretary of the board, said in a statement.
A similar order was issued for the Tarluvada site as well. The third site, Mudasarlova (Visakhapatnam), awaits a similar order. Across the three sites, the State Government allotted 601 acres.
