Infosys has finalised performance bonus payouts for Q4 FY26 with an average payout of 70 per cent, according to sources familiar with the matter, marking a decline from the previous quarter’s 85 per cent payout.

An internal company email, which businessline viewed, confirmed that employees across personal levels (PL) 4, 5, and 6 have received the bonus payouts. PLs are internal employee grading bands used by the company during appraisal cycles to evaluate performance and determine variable pay eligibility.

According to the mail, the bonus applies to employees covering junior- and mid-level staff, with payouts linked to performance categories.

Among PL4 employees, payouts were fixed at 82 per cent for those rated “outstanding”, 74 per cent for the “commendable” category, and 67 per cent for employees rated as “meets expectations” or “needs attention”.

For PL5 employees, payouts ranged from 79 per cent for top performers to 65 per cent at the lower end, while employees in the commendable category received 72 per cent. At the PL6 level, “outstanding” performers received 77 per cent, “commendable” employees got 70 per cent, while the other two received 63 per cent.

Latest payout

Despite the sequential decline, the latest payout is higher than the average bonus payout of 65 per cent in Q4 FY25, even amid persistent macroeconomic uncertainty.

Infosys was yet to respond to businessline’s email seeking clarification by the time of going to press.

The IT giant reported a steady operational performance in Q4 FY26, with revenue rising 13.4 per cent YoY to ₹46,402 crore, or 4.1 per cent in constant currency (cc) terms. Sequentially, revenue grew 2 per cent, though it declined 1.3 per cent in cc.

Net profit for the quarter rose 20.9 per cent YoY and 27.8 per cent sequentially to ₹8,501 crore. The company has guided for FY27 revenue growth of 1.5–3.5 per cent, while the operating margin for the quarter stood at 21 per cent.

Infosys’ shares closed at ₹1,196.90 on Tuesday, up 4.77 per cent
