As Dhurandhar: The Revenge edges closer to its March 19 theatrical release, the numbers emerging from advance bookings and paid previews are painting a picture that even seasoned trade analysts are struggling to contextualise. With over one million tickets sold in advance across all languages on PVR INOX alone, and paid preview collections projected between ₹45–50 crore on a weekday half-day, the exhibition industry is bracing for what could be a watershed moment in Indian cinema.

Kamal Gianchandani, Chief of Business Planning & Strategy at PVR INOX, has publicly expressed hope that the film becomes the first Hindi-language release to cross the ₹1,000 crore nett domestic mark — a milestone that would place it firmly among the all-time pan-India blockbusters, a space currently occupied by Pushpa 2: The Rule and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.The records it must overcome are formidable. On paid previews, the benchmark stands at ₹23 crore, set by Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG.

On opening day, it faces the ₹66 crore Hindi film record held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. And over its full theatrical run, it will be chasing its own predecessor — the current highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.
