Indonesia is in talks to export 1 million tons of fertiliser to India, the Philippines, Thailand, and Brazil its cabinet secretary said.
* The 1 million ton export commitment is on top of 250,000 tons of fertiliser shipped to Australia, cabinet secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in a president's office statement late on Tuesday.
* Indonesia's total domestic production of urea fertiliser is 7.8 million tons, while domestic needs are at 6.3 million tons, Teddy added, citing agriculture ministry data.
* Fertiliser shortages due to the Iran war are a pressing concern for developing countries and gains from rising oil and gas prices for developing world producers are likely to be short-lived, the head of the United Nations trade agency said last week.
