Humour has always been the leitmotif of Pidilite’s brands and that shines through in Shoefix’s Valentine’s Day campaign ‘Jodi Salamat Rahe’. The film takes a playful, ’90s Bollywood-inspired route, complete with classic melodrama and a song-and-dance routine. Adding to the fun, Blinkit makes an unexpected cameo, amplifying the quirky storyline. We see a couple running towards each other in filmi style, until the hero’s sprint is stalled because his shoe heel came off — but Shoefix, via Blinkit, takes care. Punning at multiple levels, the romantic pair and the shoe pair are allowed to bond in this Ogilvy-made creative.

Futuristic love

What happens when a robot falls in love with a mobike? FCB Interface’s new film for Hero MotoCorp shows a robot drawn to Glamour X’s beautiful design and advanced features. Set to the dreamy song ‘Pehla Nasha’, the film, which sees the infatuated robot chasing the motorcycle, has several sweet moments and perfectly enumerates all the best features of the 125cc bike.

Gripping tale

The commercial that scores a perfect hit during the cricket T-20 series is the one from CEAT, featuring an uncooperative tyre. The ad shows filmmaker Zoya Akhtar trying to direct an action scene where the car has to screech and skid. Instead, shot after shot is taken and the car refuses to go off control. Where’s the skid, she asks. The answer stares back at her as she glances at the tyre. The storyline sells the tyre’s ability to grip, and it does so grippingly.

Out of the mouth of kids

Clean label brand The Whole Truth, which has entered the kid’s category with a new range of snacking bars and milk mixes, takes a jab at the claims of big brands in a hard-hitting new ad. Even as parents extol the virtues of various products made by big brands, their smart kids quickly point to the labels and start questioning them.

Clearing the confusion

Bajaj Broking’s new ad campaign, airing during the T20 World Cup, is based on the idea that investment need not be complicated. Rooted in its brand theme ‘Seedhi Simple Investing — Bajaj Broking’, it features multiple short films showing daily situations where one faces confusion (for example, ambiguous washroom symbols or lift buttons) and contrasts them with how simplified investing has become.
