The incumbent All India NR Congress (AINRC), led by Chief Minister N Rangaswamy, is on course for a consecutive victory in the Puducherry Assembly elections.

Of the 30 seats, the AINRC was leading in eight, while its allies — the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in two and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in one — added to the alliance’s advantage.

The opposition Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) was leading in two seats, and its ally, the Indian National Congress, in one. Three Independents were also in the lead, according to data from the Election Commission of India as of 11.15 a.m.
