Election Commission of India has directed the Tamil Nadu government to appoint senior bureaucrat M Sai Kumar as the State’s chief secretary in place of N Muruganandam.
The directions of the Commission to be implemented with immediate effect, says an ofder.
The Commission also directed the Chief Secretary to appoint senior IPS officer Sandeep Mittal as Director General of Police (Armed Police and Vigilance and Anti-Corruption).
The officers transferred out shall not be posted in any election-related duties till the completion of elections, the Commission said.
