Wallbox has introduced the latest addition to its AC charging portfolio, the Pulsar Pro, a smart EV charger designed to simplify charging reimbursement for drivers, employers, fleet operators, and property managers across Europe.
The launch comes as EV charging becomes increasingly decentralized. Today, most charging sessions take place at homes, workplaces, depots, and shared residential buildings. As companies continue to electrify vehicle fleets, managing charging costs and EV charging reimbursement is becoming a growing challenge.
For eeNews Europe readers, the announcement highlights an important trend in EV infrastructure. Instead of simply installing chargers, operators are increasingly deploying smarter systems that support fleet management, energy monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
According to Wallbox, the new Pulsar Pro integrates MID certified energy metering directly into the charger. As a result, users can measure charging sessions accurately without installing additional metering equipment.
The feature is particularly relevant in European markets where certified energy measurement is already required or is becoming an expected part of EV reimbursement schemes.
The timing reflects broader market developments. Corporate vehicles account for around 60% of new car registrations across the European Union. Meanwhile, around 80% of EV charging takes place at homes, workplaces, or depot facilities. As a result, companies need reliable methods to track electricity usage and reimburse employees who charge vehicles away from centralized fleet locations.
“As electric mobility expands, charging reimbursement is becoming an important need across homes, workplaces, fleets, and shared residential environments,” said Eduard Castañeda, Chief Product & Technology Officer at Wallbox. “With the new Pulsar Pro, we are helping make this process simpler, more transparent, and easier to manage for drivers, employers, fleet operators, installers, and property managers.”
Wallbox says drivers can use the Wallbox App to generate reimbursement reports, configure electricity tariffs, register RFID cards, and share charging data directly with employers or fleet managers.
For larger deployments, the Wallbox Portal provides centralized oversight of charging activity across multiple users, vehicles, and locations. The platform is intended to simplify reimbursement management in workplace, residential, and fleet charging environments.
Beyond reimbursement, Pulsar Pro includes a range of smart charging capabilities already available across the Wallbox ecosystem. These include solar charging integration, dynamic load balancing, remote management, user access controls, and support for evolving European charging regulations, including compliance with the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR).
The Pulsar Pro is available now across European Union markets. Wallbox expects the charger to become available in the UK and North America in 2027.
