NVIDIA has appointed Suzanne Nora Johnson to its board of directors, expanding the board to 11 members as the company continues to strengthen its leadership team during rapid growth in AI and data center markets.
The appointment becomes effective on July 13, 2026, with Nora Johnson also expected to join NVIDIA’s Audit Committee. The move adds a senior executive with deep experience across finance, healthcare, and corporate governance at a time when AI companies are facing increasing scrutiny from investors, regulators, and enterprise customers.
Nora Johnson is the former Vice Chairman of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., where she spent two decades in leadership positions including Chair of the Global Markets Institute, Head of Global Research and Head of Global Healthcare.
She currently serves on the board of Pfizer Inc., where she chairs the Audit Committee and is also a member of the Executive Committee and Regulatory & Compliance Committee. She recently stepped down as Board Chair of Intuit Inc.after serving on the board since 2007.
NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said the appointment reflects the company’s focus on long-term growth and governance.
“Suzanne is an extraordinary leader whose career spans finance, technology, healthcare and public policy,” said Huang. “Her experience guiding global companies, together with her leadership at the forefront of education and philanthropy, will be an invaluable asset to NVIDIA’s board. We are honored to welcome her and look forward to her insight as we build the future in the age of AI.”
The board expansion comes as NVIDIA continues to dominate the AI accelerator market, with growing influence across cloud computing, automotive systems, robotics, and edge AI applications.
As semiconductor companies scale globally and face tighter regulatory oversight, board appointments increasingly reflect the need for expertise in risk management, compliance, and international business strategy alongside technical innovation.
