SiTime posts 88% revenue growth on AI infrastructure demand

SiTime has reported a sharp rise in first-quarter revenue, driven by growing demand for precision timing devices in AI infrastructure and other high-performance systems.

The California-based MEMS timing specialist posted Q1 2026 revenue of $113.6m, up 88.3% from $60.3m a year earlier, highlighting continued momentum for silicon MEMS timing technology as an alternative to traditional quartz-based devices.

The figures also provide another indication of how AI-related semiconductor demand is spreading beyond GPUs and processors into supporting technologies.

AI infrastructure drives growth

SiTime said the strong quarterly performance reflected increased adoption of its precision timing platforms in AI data centres and high-performance computing systems.

“Our strong start to 2026, with revenue growing 88 percent year over year, reflects the scale and momentum of the Precision Timing category we created,” said Rajesh Vashist. “As AI infrastructure and high-performance systems grow, precision timing is becoming a system-level requirement. Here, our differentiated platforms are driving higher ASPs and margins, along with deeper customer engagement. I believe that we are executing from a position of strength for the next phase of SiTime’s growth and am excited about the opportunities ahead.”

The company has positioned MEMS timing technology as a more resilient and compact alternative to quartz timing devices, particularly in harsh operating environments. SiTime says its products are now used across more than 400 applications, including AI servers, industrial robots, autonomous driving systems, wearables and IoT devices.

Mixed profitability picture

Despite the revenue surge, SiTime still reported a GAAP net loss of $5.2m for the quarter, equivalent to $0.20 per diluted share. GAAP gross margin reached 59%.

On a non-GAAP basis, however, the company posted net income of $38.9m, or $1.44 per diluted share, with non-GAAP gross margin rising to 64.5%.

The difference between the GAAP and non-GAAP figures mainly reflects stock-based compensation, amortisation of acquired intangibles and acquisition-related costs.

SiTime ended the quarter with cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments of $788.7m, giving the company substantial resources to support expansion and product development.

The company also disclosed new inducement stock grants for 42 newly hired employees worldwide under its amended 2022 inducement award plan, signalling continued recruitment activity as demand grows.

With AI infrastructure spending continuing to accelerate, suppliers of enabling technologies such as timing, power management and high-speed connectivity are increasingly benefiting from broader semiconductor investment cycles.
