HACKSIUM BUSAN 2026
HACKSIUM is a portmanteau of "Hack" and the Latin suffix "-sium" (meaning space/place) — representing a cyber battlefield where the world of hackers and cutting edge security techniques collide.
HACKSIUM Busan 2026 is a real world cyber defense competition based on attack and defense scenarios focused on protecting the manufacturing and maritime sectors key industries in the southeastern region of Korea from cyber threats.
Participants form teams to analyze actual cyber attacks, formulate defense strategies, and execute them in real-time to compete within a limited time frame.

Schedule
- Qualifier: July 18, 2026 (Saturday)
- Finals: September 18-19, 2026 (Friday-Saturday)

Finals Venue: Busan, South Korea (exact location TBD)

Support for Participants
All finalists will receive accommodation and meals near the competition venue.
International participants are additionally eligible for round-trip airfare reimbursement of up to ₩1,000,000 KRW per person (any excess to be covered by the participant).

Eligibility & Team Composition
Teams consist of 4 members and are open to university students who are currently enrolled or on an approved leave of absence.
Teams with 2 or more international members are classified as international teams and must participate through the international qualifier.
Finalists will be required to submit proof of enrollment or leave of absence upon advancing to the finals.
