If it's not transphobia, it's racism
In Molde
Molde, Norway
Molde Molde Molde
Møre og Romsdal
I'm telling on you.
Yes it was fun this weekend but this dude I met got PISSED when I played this song
And I gotta tell you
The subject we were talking about is "black people need to be played more all over the world the way old classic rock music is because it's considered to be inoffensive and safe"
Listen to this song
LISTEN TO IT
Inoffensive and safe? That's this song to a T.
I want you to search your heart of hearts and ask; what kind of person would this dude have to be to listen to a song with the following lyrics
"So I sing; and I learn to play the guitar; In hopes of one day writing a song that everybody can sing along with...."
And get RED-FACED PISSED OFF to the point that the VERY NEXT SONG had to be a hard metal song made by someone he admitted is transphobic, but dude "likes the music"
Like for real dude was wearing a mask and it slipped all the way the fuck off with me playing that song
I don't know what these people think they're getting when they hang out with me
Do they think I'm just gonna fold?
Oh and he said I was racist for suggesting that white music gets played more than black music
Like dawg how are you gonna tell me old 70s American rock bands aren't overplayed when high school students in NORWAY are obsessing about those motherfuckers TODAY.
They ain't freaking out about Levi Stephens I'll tell you that much. But they do seem oddly obsessed with KISS. And seemed to "discover" their music in the wild somehow. In Norway.
I wonder
I wonder
I woooonder how much more they're being played than Levi? They had never heard of him. Hmmm... is he just not their style? Or maybe just maybe they never had a chance to trip across artists like him EVER and the only people they COULD discover were the same ones high schoolers were obsessed with when I was in high school. Hmmm
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I wonder if they were ever given an opportunity to listen to anything else or were they flooded with the same damn songs I've been hearing everywhere for the past 30 years?
You'd swear I told this dude to rip his own arm off and eat it
That's how bothered and pissy he was by the very concept that the music industry might not be perfectly fair to black people. And the fact that I actually played a wholesome song that proved my point that black people can make music that's wholesome and inoffensive
