depsidase : Oh yeah that’s because the same people who make people think that are the same people as - The people who want you to think BLM is about putting white people down • Black Lives Matter is about showing that black people deserve to live, just like everyone else - The people who want you to think women’s rights is about putting men down • When women have equal rights, EVERYONE thrives better - The people who want you to think 2SLGBTQIA+ rights means no one will be allowed to be straight • Nobody’s fucking recruiting. We just want people to be allowed to be who they are. Including goddamn straight. - The people who want you to think teaching children how to use their agency and say *NO* is the same as grooming • The groomers are the ones who don’t want kids to know anything about their agency or consent; so that they can more easily manipulate them, and trick them into life threatening situations. Teaching a kid what grooming looks like and how to escape it is what the “think of the children” crowd should WANT. But they DON’T. - The people who want you to think ACAB/defund the police means the apocalypse or the purge • people want caring communities . There are extremely fucking few situations for which A MORON WITH A GUN is the solution. Most laws concerning police conduct mean that they can’t help in emergencies or that they’re inventivized to stay out of the way until the bad thing has already happened. Providing for the community has infinitely better results on crime than dumping money into punishing people. But a thriving community isn’t what these people want. They want 5 rich people and 300 million slaves. - The people who want you to think giving housing to the unhoused will make a bunch of people lazy, fuckwitted, with a refusal to work or contribute to society in any meaningful way • We already have people like that. They’re called billionaires. You want to stop paying someone to sit around and do fuck-all? Put the homeless people in the mansions and put the billionaires on the street. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion actually covers a LOT of this, all in one clean package that’s easy to present to a body like the US Congress. When those people have a fucktillion things being screamed at them from every angle, needing to sit them down and explain just exactly why this one specific program will be helpful is essentially a recipe for them to refuse whatever you came to ask. “Hey, we want Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in our schools and jobs and government” That’s a fucking EASY SELL. That’s something they can look at and go “huh. Yeah I can’t imagine how that would be unpopular. I’ll put it up to a vote and it’ll pass” As opposed to “Hey we need to prove that black people actually deserve to exist, women shouldn’t be paid less, homeless people need houses, you shouldn’t be under threat for who you are or who you love, we should maybe make it easier for people to live in their towns without constantly worrying about getting shot because they made eye contact with the dumbest person in town, and billionaires shouldn’t be allowed to choose goddamn anything because they only care about themselves and if they’re in charge everyone will suffer” How the fuck is he supposed to sell that? DEI is a great fucking package for a lot of societal ills. That’s why these fuckwits don’t want it to exist or have strong government backing.
