Resuming after Hibernating Wifi Fails
@cscs · 2026-04-22 · via CachyOS Forum - Latest posts

I’m having issues with hibernation. It first wouldn’t hibernate at all when closing the lid, which I fixed by running chmod -x /usr/lib/kf6/kauth/wakeupsourcehelper as described here. This worked but now when I resume from hibernation, my apps don’t restart as they were before hibernating and 90% of the time my wifi doesn’t work at all which only seems to be fixed with a full restart.

I tried sudo systemctl restart NetworkMananger and sudo modprobe -r iwlmvm iwlwifi && sudo modprobe iwlwifi iwlmvm to try and fix the wifi issue, but didn’t work only a restart would fix it.

The only options in my bios for fastboot are below and I’m pretty sure I selected the correct one to turn it off.

fastboot

Here’s a bugreport I created after resuming where the wifi didn’t work.

I’m running a Dell XPS 9720 Laptop.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
