I had 0 issues on CS2 using a 5060ti, but I recently upgraded to a 5090 and now when i play CS2 I consistently get crashes (sometimes it crashes the game, game+steam, or my whole system freezes from a gpu error). It is always the same vulkan device lost error and i have been troubleshooting tirelessly. Clearing shader caches, reinstalling CS2, messing with launch arguments, updating/rolling back drivers and kernels, lowering my graphics settings… At this point I am starting to think there might just be a driver bug with the 5090 gpu. Or idk if it matters that I also use a AMD cpu and the integrated amd graphics might be causing a conflict or something. I have also verified the gpu crashes arent related to overheating or lack of power. At this point do I try reimaging my pc or waiting for a new nvidia driver update? Any help or troubleshooting steps would be appreciated, thanks! journalctl output after crash - Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: Linux version 7.0.1-1-cachyos (linux-cachyos@cachyos) (clang ver> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-linux-cachyos root=UUID=a> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-provided physical RAM map: Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x0000000000000000-0x000000000009ffff] System R> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x00000000000a0000-0x00000000000fffff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x0000000000100000-0x0000000009afefff] System R> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x0000000009aff000-0x0000000009ffffff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000000a000000-0x000000000a1fffff] System R> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000000a200000-0x000000000a20ffff] ACPI NVS Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000000a210000-0x000000000affffff] System R> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000000b000000-0x000000000b020fff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000000b021000-0x0000000088220fff] System R> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x0000000088221000-0x000000008e220fff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000008e221000-0x000000008e47efff] ACPI data Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000008e47f000-0x000000009047efff] ACPI NVS Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000009047f000-0x00000000985fefff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x00000000985ff000-0x0000000099ff8fff] System R> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x0000000099ff9000-0x0000000099ffbfff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x0000000099ffc000-0x0000000099ffffff] System R> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000009a000000-0x000000009bffffff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [gap 0x000000009c000000-0x000000009d7f2fff] Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000009d7f3000-0x000000009fffffff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [gap 0x00000000a0000000-0x00000000dfffffff] Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x00000000e0000000-0x00000000efffffff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [gap 0x00000000f0000000-0x00000000f6ffffff] Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x00000000f7000000-0x00000000ffffffff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x0000000100000000-0x000000103defffff] System R> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [gap 0x000000103df00000-0x000000103ef3ffff] Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000103ef40000-0x00000010801fffff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [gap 0x0000001080200000-0x000000fcffffffff] Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: BIOS-e820: [mem 0x000000fd00000000-0x000000ffffffffff] device r> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: NX (Execute Disable) protection: active Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: APIC: Static calls initialized Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: efi: EFI v2.9 by American Megatrends Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: efi: ACPI=0x8e47e000 ACPI 2.0=0x8e47e014 TPMFinalLog=0x90435000 > Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: random: crng init done Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: efi: Remove mem224: MMIO range=[0xe0000000-0xefffffff] (256MB) f> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: e820: remove [mem 0xe0000000-0xefffffff] device reserved Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: efi: Remove mem225: MMIO range=[0xf7000000-0xfedfffff] (126MB) f> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: e820: remove [mem 0xf7000000-0xfedfffff] device reserved Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: efi: Not removing mem226: MMIO range=[0xfee00000-0xfee00fff] (4K> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: efi: Remove mem227: MMIO range=[0xfee01000-0xffffffff] (17MB) fr> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: e820: remove [mem 0xfee01000-0xffffffff] device reserved Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: efi: Remove mem229: MMIO range=[0x1060000000-0x10801fffff] (514M> Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: e820: remove [mem 0x1060000000-0x10801fffff] device reserved Apr 23 19:07:54 cachyos kernel: SMBIOS 3.7.0 present. This is a known (though not super common) issue with NVIDIA + CS2 on Linux, especially with new 50-series cards and recent drivers like your 595.58.03 .
