i know netgear is selling bougus, trying to sell extended security

but this sounds like extortion.

I seriously doubt that it’s the default for the router to block AUR and Arch. Either something you are setting wrong or a defective router.

I’ve got a Netgear router, but I use my Nas as the DNS so haven’t seen anything. Maybe you could change the default DNS to something like cloud flare (1.1.1.1) if the Netgear one is doing funny things? Not sure what else in your router would be doing it.

Arch Repos or AUR or both?

Its not really all that new for things like certain regions or locations like universities to have restrictions. Up to and including blocking something like the AUR explicitly. Definitely seen that before.

But this probably would be the first time I had heard of some home router doing this without any relevant configuration.

Looks like a single mirror blocked, not arch or “the AUR”.

Saying that if its a widespread issue we might expect to find other examples .. would not appear to be inherently rude to me.

As to the new images - there are no examples there of the AUR being blocked.

elda.asgardius.company is one arch mirror. But just one.

Anyways .. what setting allows for this automatic blocking? How is it configured?
Is it that “Armor” trial you have? Maybe check its settings.

Also one where the same domain appears to host a couple of keygens etc. The domain is not just an arch mirror.

Ah ok, I haven’t seen Netgear Armour before, my router must be a little too old for it. It looks to be doing a similar job to AdGuard and pihole with additional filtering, just at a premium (although not needing additional hardware is a bonus). I’m not sure how it works to be honest, but if it is not actually keeping things you want access to unblocked, then it is quite on-brand for Netgear based on my experience with them :laughing:
