Guten Tag. ![]()
I’m quite new to linux and cachy is my first try. Actually it runs in dualboot with win11 on my desktop. With this setup I’m trying to get rid of Microsoft’s claw.
I’m in my 40s and I use windows for over 20 years now (yes, grown up in the woods! ^^). But I did not dive deep into my OS.
I’m not an IT-Guy or a big tinkerer … also my english-skills are a bit rusted so reading (and searching) long tech-articles is a bit difficult. My attemp to CachyOS is going with YT, Google-Gemini and you guys in this forum ![]()
For now I use my PC for gaming and casuals like surfin, office, etc. -In future, maybe I’ll try things like lokal LLM, video-editing or aktive streaming (when I feel the urge to tinker
).
CachyOS with KDE-Plasma looks great and I just fell in love with the wobbly windows!! I also Iike Cachy’s low resource-consumption, startup-time and it’s snapshots feature looks good (althought I did never need it, yet)
Thanks for your work and for the great OS!!
I suggest putting cachyos on its own drive because windows update doesn’t care about dual booting with another OS and will at times break boot partition for anything other then winblows.

Yes, win and cachy are already on seperate SSDs. But this advise cant be given too early -THX!! ![]()
