This is my first time posting to any type of forum so hopefully I’m doing this right. My laptop has a problem on Linux period waking the screen after awhile of it being off where it would take upwards of one minute sometimes more before showing the lock screen, other times it’ll freeze and flash black screens making it almost impossible to login where once logged in the problem disappears where other times it doesn’t and continues past the lock screen forcing a reboot, I’ve ruled out this being an issue with sleep as it does this outside of sleep as well with the screen being off for a time. I’ve ruled out two possible issues below. I think this is possibly two things: Possible Issue One: Upon waking up the system becomes confused on which GPU is handling the screen (eDP-1) where it waits and waits and waits before doing something to find the display once more. Possible Issue Two: The Nvidia Driver ( Ver. 595.58.03 ) is somehow messing up how the display (eDP-1) is being detected upon powering it up after its been turned off for some time causing the long wakes and bugging out flashing of black screens and freezing because when I set the laptop to use intel only mode it seems the problem disappears completely. This problem happens regardless of what distro I use but I favor CachyOS because its really solid in terms of performance to other distros and easy to use I will perform any suggestions given and I’m willing to do as many reinstalls to get this problem resolved so that I can finally 100% move away from Windows 11 Thank you all.
