Now that CachyOS is my one and only OS, what is the best media ripper for it?

I want to turn all my music and DVD’s into digital form. SO I am looking for the best app for it.

For Music, Rubyripper is widely recommended for its bit-perfect accuracy and ability to correct errors, while abcde and cdparanoia offer robust command-line alternatives for lossless FLAC or standard MP3 conversion. (These have been my go to for years)

Now for DVD’s this will gain a lot of suggestions, but I prefer MakeMKV and HandBrake There are others as well so this might be an effort for you to decide on the best app.

For CDs, I enjoyed using Fre:ac (just checked, it has Flatpak and AppImage formats available).

Personally, I’d rather look for some native packages like k3b, whipper or asunder from the AUR. For DVDs, Handbrake is said to be pretty good, although last time I used it must have been around 2011 :laughing:
