Hello, I’ve recently got myself a 5.1 surround system (Logitech z906 to be precise), and to my surprise, the digital surround (a single TOSLINK cable from the motherboard to the speaker system) works out of the box on Cachy! No need to install any shady drivers like you’d have on Windows to get the DTS/Dolby Digital to work.
