error: failed to init transaction (unable to lock database)

if you’re sure a package manager is not already
running, you can remove /var/lib/pacman/db.lck

(Now what I can remember from before this.)
So i uninstalled lutris after trying to update it and getting mad (partially because I could get into my epic games account do yo an error). I used these commands

sudo pacman -R cachyos-gaming-applications

sudo pacman -Rns lutris

Then I went over to Heroic and logged into my epic acc there. then tried downloading GTA5 without the anticheat. I then cancelled the the download because I it seemed like a waste of time. logged out of epic on Heroic.

some time in between I think I tried updating heroic and stopped I don’t remember all that well.

I then tried reinstalling cachyos-gaming-applications I think, and stopped before finishing by closing out of the package manager, then my load time on my browser were super long so I rebooted trying to fix the loading. (I’m sorry if this is hard to read I haven’t slept well and I’m very tired.)

My load times were better but I regretted removing lutris, so i tired reinstalling it and the cachyos gaming applications thing and got the error.

I really need to stop messing with complex stuff when I’m inexperienced and tired -_-

sorry if I don’t respond quickly, I’m really tired and my sleep scheduled is f-ed.

Yes, it’s not good to bounce all over the place, and especially to abort an install/uninstall activity.

I am a bit unsure what exactly is the problem here.

Is that the error you are getting? In that case all you need to do is what is says in the error message: you can remove /var/lib/pacman/db.lck

sudo rm /var/lib/pacman/db.lck

Ok I’ll try it

ok I installed Mari0 as a test and it downloaded just fine, I’ll try reinstalling the other things at a later date if I remember. Thank you.
